At its premises in Desenzano del Garda, Celmacch has developed and recently tested a Chroma Print High Tech 1700 line equipped with the latest technology available on the market. Its aim was to assess the quality standards attainable using the latest technological solutions in flexo printing.
Important factors to consider in order to reach optimal printing standards are the anilox rollers, printing plates, ink used, corrugated board, and printing experience etc. Choosing the most suitable supplier is critical, which is why Celmacch chose an ideal printing plate partner that is able support the Chroma Print line in achieving impressive results. The plate is manufactured by Tadam Ltd, based in Maltignano (province of Ascoli Piceno), the first company in Italy to use the Flexcel NXC Kodak system for printing on corrugated board. The use of the Flexcel NXC gravure plate, where all points of the graphic elements have the exact same height and flat-top profile, speeds up adjustment procedures by up to 50% regarding interference between the plate and anilox roller and between the plate and the substrate. Machine start-up time and wastage is thus reduced, as well as decreasing the differences of dot-gain caused by undesired variations of printing pressures during production.
Using this system, Tadam produces plates with resolution of 60 # lines per cm for ceramic anilox rollers with up to 500 lines per cm.
