K&B Celmacch is pleased to announce that it will install the first ChromaCUT High Tech Rotary Die Cutter at Sambo Corrugated Board Co., Ltd., a leading corrugated board processing company located in South Korea. This is a great achievement because this installation allows us to enter a new, important market such as the Korean one, working alongside a leading company with history and tradition in Korea.
Founded in 1973, Sambo Corrugated is a family-owned company that operates five corrugated processing plants and one paper mill in South Korea. Korea is a country with a very advanced technological infrastructure, home to top companies such as Samsung, LG, Kia, Hyunday, etc. Sambo has about 800 employees (as of 2020). Since its establishment, under the motto of ‘Diligence and Sincerity’ ‘Accomplishment of Duties,’ and ‘Harmony and Unity’, all officers and employees have been united and endeavored for customer satisfaction with the best quality and service. Sambo has the optimal environment to deliver products quickly and accurately to their customers, whenever and wherever they want.
In addition to the current five factories, Sambo has secured a 170,000 square meter site to build two more factories to achieve higher productivity.
Sambo main customer include Lotte, Coupang (Korean Amazon), CJ, OB, Hite and more.
The Koenig & Bauer Celmacch rotary die cutter ordered by Sambo, which will be installed by the end of 2025, is a high-tech ChromaCUT fully servo-driven with belt feeder, quick set-up during production, and vacuum stripping stacker. Sambo decided to invest in Koenig & Bauer Celmacch technology after viewing several installations in Europe. The line will be completed by Alliance peripherals including a double palletizer.
In order to satisfy Customer’s requests, the machine was equipped with ISRA system – Print Image Inspection System “Zero Defects” with ColorWatch placed after the last printing unit to inspect the whole surface and control print quality down to the smallest detail, and Koenig & Bauer Celmacch IR and hot air Drying System, which guarantees very high printing results also on coated paper and a fast drying process due to the combination of infra-red lamps and hot air. The inking system is equipped with carbon chambered doctor blade systems developed by Koenig & Bauer Celmacch.
The user-friendly technology, absolute reliability, extremely high quality and high definition printing accuracy are the key factors that contributed to the final decision. Koenig & Bauer, with its Korean branch located a few kilometres from Sambo, will be able to support the customer in all technical and after-sales aspects.
